Maple Syrup Cleanse

Maple Syrup Cleanse

The Maple Syrup CleanseThe Maple Syrup Cleanse is related to the Maple Syrup Diet, or the “Beyonce Diet.” It is also sometimes called a Lemon Cleanse or a Master Cleanser. The book "Healing for the Age of Enlightenment," written in 1976 by Stanley Burroughs, introduced the Maple Syrup Cleanse. Burroughs called it the Lemon Cleanse. That book covers other topics like reflexology and color therapy as well. He also wrote a book called "The Master Cleanser" that only covers the cleanse. The cleanse was first promoted as a stomach ulcer cure by Burroughs, who was an alternative health practitioner. Burrough's books are difficult to read and anyone wanting to try the cleanse might like to read a book published in 2004 by Peter Glickman entitled "Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days".

The main difference between the Maple Syrup Diet and the Maple Syrup Cleanse is that the cleanse goes a couple of steps further than the diet. The diet is mainly for quick weight loss. The cleanse's main purpose is to cleanse the body of heavy metals and candida (yeastlike, imperfect fungi.) It is claimed that the Maple Syrup Cleanse not only puts the body in a state of better health, but makes the body ready for the beginning of a better and healthier diet.

Our bodies today are full of pollutants from the environment, and all sorts of additives like pesticides, and artificial colorings and flavorings, in our water and food, are eventually stored in the organs of our body as well as the body's fatty tissues. These pollutants add up over time. Using a cleanse, like the Maple Syrup Cleanse removes these toxins from the body and improves our immune systems as well as a person's overall vitality.

A Maple Syrup Cleanse is also said to get rid of allergies, headaches, pain, fatigue, arthritis and other symptoms of toxins in the body.

The solution for the Maple Syrup Cleanse is as follows:

  • 3 quarts of spring water
  • 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice from organic lemons
  • 1 cup of pure grade B maple syrup (not flavored pancake syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Pour it all into a one gallon jug and mix. Drink 8 to 12 glasses of the mixture each day.

If you don't want to lose weight, or don't want to lose weight as quickly as you are, add more maple syrup to the mixture for extra calories.

Maple Syrup is used in this mixture because it's one of the few unprocessed good sugars. It offers calories as well as micronutrients. It's high in zinc and manganese which are good for a healthy heart and it is also excellent for balancing cholesterol levels. Grade B maple syrup contains more minerals than lighter colored maple syrups.

Lemons are included because they provide vitamins and minerals and make the body more alkaline.

The cayenne pepper breaks up mucous and increases healthy blood flow. Cayenne pepper also contains vitamins B and C, which are often referred to as “super vitamins.”

For a good cleanse, drink six to twelve glasses a day of the mixture above. You must do the cleanse for at least ten days but it can be followed for up to forty days. Don't eat anything else. Unlike the diet, a laxative tea (which can be bought in a health food store – there are numerous brands) is used in combination with the cleanse and a quart of salt water is drunk first thing every morning.
